Overview

As an educational resource, CMGC supports scholarly and civic resources that foster dialogue, education, and scholarship on migration and its effects. Situated on the most diverse ampus in the United States, CMGC seeks to translate the campus’s location and diversity into the curriculum by facilitating the development of pedagogical resources on immigration and urbanization. Center scholarship and public programming engages undergraduate and graduate students in research on and civic engagement with local immigrant communities. The Center also serves as a conduit for disseminating research and teaching on migration at Rutgers-Newark to a wider academic audience, and through non-academic forums that engage a wider public.
