To translate the campus’s location and diversity into the curriculum by facilitating the development of resources and classes on immigration and urbanization.
To engage undergraduates and graduate students in research on and civic engagement with immigrant communities.
To disseminate the research and teaching on migration at Rutgers-Newark to a wider academic audience, and through non-academic forums that engage a wider public.
To develop sustainable partnerships and collaborative programs with civic and cultural organizations engaged with the most pressing issues resulting from contemporary migration.
To serve as a key resource for scholars, policy makers, and local communities about matters relating to global migration.
