Dr. Asela Laguna
Professor
Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Literature Rutgers University-Newark Asela Rodríguez de Laguna received her Ph. D. in Comparative Literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is Professor of Spanish at Rutgers-Newark, was Director of Hispanic Civilization & Language Studies Program from 1992-1999, and twice has been Acting Chair of the Department of Puerto Rican & Hispanic Caribbean Studies at Rutgers-Livingston Campus (2001-2002; 2004-2005). She has been a contributor to G.B. Shaw (An Annotated Secondary Bibliography Series on English Literature in Transition 1880-1920)(1986), 500 Years of Changes and Continuity in Puerto Rico (1991), Good Reading, Christopher Columbus Encyclopedia (1992) and entries in the forthcoming Encyclopedia of Caribbean Literature, Encyclopedia of Latinos and Latinas and Encyclopedia Latina and others. |
